Common questions

What does the Tex number mean?

Tex is the weight in grams of 1,000 metres of thread. The higher the Tex, the thicker and stronger the thread: Tex 18 suits light fabrics, while Tex 135 suits heavy seams.

Is PolyCore thread good for denim washing?

Yes. PolyCore is our speciality for denim. It is built to keep its strength and shade through heavy bleach washes.

Which PolyCore Tex should I use for jeans?

Most jeans use a heavier thread such as Tex 80 to Tex 120 for topstitching and a lighter thread such as Tex 40 or Tex 60 for construction seams. Tell us your fabric and machine, and we will suggest the right size.
